Windy finished her championship in roughly six months of showing - not consqquetively. She finished with three majors - one a 4 pt. supported BCOC supported entry major in Lompoc.

I think my biggest thrill with Windy was winning the veteran bitch class and an AOM at the 2004 BCNC spring specialty. The judge told me he thought she was an absolutely lovely bitch. And I agreed - wholeheartedly.

I can't say that I knew much about borzoi when I first saw Windy but it didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that she was really something special. I was smitten with her when she was shown at age 2 by her co-owner, Donna MacMillen. It wasn't until several years later that our stars would cross.

At age five Windy came to stay with me. Her first show, as now a fully mature, beautifully coated big moving bitch, was a real shock. Suddenly EVERYONE wanted to know who she was and where she came from. That she was so beautiful - it wasn't just me afterall - and we went in the ring like we owned it. Well, not quite. I still had to learn how to show a dog! So our first trip we went reserve. But it really didn't take us long to get that cherished championship. I could only show one day a weekend and not every weekend at that. I couldn't go to shows that were more than a few hours away. In the middle of that year and a half it took her to finish, she had a litter of five fabulous puppies, dropped all her coat and looked like she was pink for several months. But she just won even more.

I cried for weeks after I returned her to Donna, its no surpirse that I moved just a few miles away.
