Views From the Road

Teakettle Junction

Teakettle Junction is an historic road junction in Death Valley National Park.  Some passersby hang a teakettle, often with a short note or other small token.  Unfortunately, structures like this violate National Park Service Policy, so it may be doomed in the name of Progress.   I suppose that someone has to remove them sometimes, or else the junction would turn into just another pile of old rotting metal in the desert?  Photographic contributions are greatly appreciated.  For each picture, I've included the approximate date it was taken, as well as the source.  And let me know if you recognize your own tea kettle!
